101 Tips to Feel Great

I wrote this article inspired by Mike King through his article : 100 Ways to Be a Better Leader

Feeling great can be made through positive habits and to feel great, you must pay attention to requirements that support your physical and mental health.

Here are 101 tips to feel great :

Through healthy living :
1. Exercise for 30 minutes everyday
2. Take a walk everyday
3. Find your exercise partner. It will not be boring, instead it can be a lot of fun during exercise.
4. Do some heavy exercise, because it can increase your balance and posture, also prevent osteoporosis.
5. Do some light exercise during work, such as stretching.
6. Use your protection during exercise, such as helmet when cycling.
7. Be responsible for your own health, such as not smoking or check your health regularly.
8. Find a doctor you like and trust.
9. Help a doctor who takes care of you. Give a clear and honest information about your health.
10. Drink multivitamin each day.
11. Fulfill your calcium need.
12. Know and understand fact about food pyramid. It will help you consume healthy and balanced food.
13. Know about food portion.
14. Don’t be a greedy eater.
15. Choose a healthy snack.
16. Bring a healthy food for your lunch.
17. Drink plenty of water.
18. Reduce your weight. At least 2/3 of adult American and 13 percent children have overweight or obesity.
19. Release your energy. Good exercise and diet are the best way to release energy.
20. Go to your doctor if you have a hearing problem. It happens to 30% of 65 years old people and often they ignore it.
21. Stay fit after menopause.
22. Make good use of medical check up. Many companies offer free or cheap medical check up.
23. Cure your headache as soon as possible. Don’t let it last too long.
24. Cure a critical pain, such as back problem, joint problem, knee problem or shoulder problem.
25. Take care of yourself much better if you work at night.
26. Rest your exhausted eyes. Look away from your computer monitor periodically and look at distant objects.
27. Take care of your teeth.
28. Let your endorphin hormone works by doing exercise. Endorphin hormone is chemical substance produced by brain for increasing your mood, relieving your pain, reducing your stress and helping your quality of sleep.

29. Smile :)
30. Make others feel comfortable by helping and supporting them (see also Long Live and Staying Young by Socializing).
31. Make a community.
32. Laugh :)
33. Ask for help if you need it.
34. Help your kids overcome stress.
35. Consult with a professional if you cannot handle problems.
36. Be at your friend’s side.
37. Give your time for intimate things.
38. Touch the people you love.
39. Overcome your alcohol and drugs problem immediately, because this can cause family problem, depression, health problem, financial problem, accident and work problem.
40. Talk to your teens about alcohol and drugs.
41. Remind your teens to use safety belt.
42. Don’t grudge.
43. Spend your time with youngsters. They can give you fresh perspectives.
44. Eat with your family together.
45. Express your feeling to the people you love.
46. Make your kids feel comfortable by exercising together.
47. Recognize depression signs on your kids.
48. Search for a counselor or be a counselor for somebody else. A counselor can give you inspiration that you don’t think it before.
49. Talk to your kids about the harm of smoking.
50. Spend your time for your personal relationship.
51. Provide sometimes for interacting face to face. In this fast digital era, an opportunity to interact face to face can be replaced easily by cellular phone call, electronic mail and short message service. However, human relationship is an essential part of emotion health.

Through Balanced Life Style :
52. Reduce consuming caffeine.
53. Use time effectively by the time you go to work and go home from work, like : listening to music or encouraging speech.
54. Leave bad habits. We all have at least one or two bad habits, such as smoking, gambling, eating too much food, spending too much, wasting time etc. Choose one bad habit and try to change it this year.
55. Relax at weekend.
56. Spend some time outdoor, because we spend most of our time indoor.
57. Go on a vacation.
58. Play with your pets.
59. Be a healthy adventurer. Keep taking care of yourself when you are far from home.
60. Create a condition that can make you sleep easily, such as exercise, read a book or do some relaxation. Don’t watch bad television programs.
61. Keep choosing healthy food when you have dinner outside.
62. Listen to music and relax.
63. Take a nap. More than 50 percent Americans experience lack of sleep problems. Taking a nap can give something good to your mental and physical health.
64. Treat your feet well. Choose shoes that fit your feet.
65. See something beautiful, like: put a picture of your beloved on your desk, see sunrise/sunset, put a vase in your room or hang your favorite picture on your wall that you can enjoy every day.
66. Face aging process by exercising, such as taking a walk, jogging, swimming, gardening, hiking, cycling or other aerobic activities.
67. Make a limit between work and home.
68. Watch body posture. A right body posture, particularly when you sit and work on chair, is an important thing to your health.
69. Protect your back. A regular exercise can strengthen your back muscle.
70. Plan something for the future, so you always see tomorrow with faith and hope.
71. Recognize signs of alcoholic addiction.
72. Beware and avoid working overload.
73. Vary your routines, for example : try new menus or take a challenge at work.
74. Turn off your cellular phone. There is a time when you should get peace and quietness.
75. Take a break during work to comfort yourself.
76. Cook a chicken soup. Chicken soup has many calls, started with “flu therapy” till food for soul.
77. Get involved in hobby or take a course. Learning something new or involving in hobby is an activity that can satisfy you.
78. Take time for yourself. We need some time to be alone and to be with other people. Being alone is very good for your body and soul, like relaxation, reflection, etc.
79. Make a change.
80. Feel comfortable without spending money, like : sitting in front of campfire with your family, playing with sea wave, reading a book, looking at a family photo album, staring at the night sky, etc.
81. Drink a cup of tea. Tea is very good for your health.
82. Practice yoga.
83. Get a massage.
84. Stop smoking right now without any compromise.
85. Meditate. Meditating is one of ways to relax your body and soul.
86. Practice your breathing. It can help relieving your tense and stress.
87. Set a schedule for having fun.
88. Pay attention to important things, such as your priorities, values and goals.
89. Get optimism. Optimism is a skill that can be learned. It just needs practices.
90. Spend money wisely.
91. Never say too late.

Through Healthy Psychology :
92. Sharpen your brain. Training your brain can increase memory and decrease risks for dementia and alzheimer.
93. Trust your instinct. It can help increasing your emotional intelligence.
94. Practice to identify and overcome stress. Signs of stress are get angry easily, isolate from surrounding environment, cry often, have insomnia, etc.
95. Prevent fatigue. Signs of fatigue are headache, demotivated, not interested in sex, heart beating, etc.
96. Don’t grudge.
97. Improve your spiritual life.
98. If you feel worried often, find some help.
99. Identify and overcome anger. Anger is a normal condition, but if you cannot overcome it, it can influence other aspects of your life.
100. Find some help to overcome depression. Ask suggestion from your doctor or psychologist.
101. Identify your comfort zone. When you know your comfort zone – in what condition you can be comfortable and satisfied – you will feel better.
